Say goodbye to tangles! This magnetic silicone cable features built-in “auto‑retracting” magic.
2026-04-22 15:08

Have you ever seen a data cable like this?
There are data cables on the market that look much like ordinary ones, but their cables are magnetized. Just give them a quick twist, and they’ll snap together into a neat coil—no more loose ends or tangled messes. No ties or cable winders required.
This type of thread typically has more than one layer. The outer layer is made of woven fabric or a protective coating, which provides a pleasant tactile feel and resistance to dirt. The inner layer is a magnetic adhesive, with a single function: to generate magnetic force, enabling the cable strands to attract one another.
Bettley SH-8010 magnetic‑adsorption solid silicone rubber is the material used for this layer.
Core Metrics of Magnetic Adhesive
To determine whether a magnetic adhesive is good, you should primarily consider three factors:
1. Magnetic field strength
The level of residual magnetism after magnetization directly determines how firmly the wire adheres. With sufficient magnetic force, the coiled wire will not unravel on its own inside the bag.
2. Magnetic Field Uniformity
The magnetic field distribution along the entire cable must be uniform. When the user runs their hand along it, the cable should adhere evenly from end to end—rather than having some sections stick while others do not.
3. Magnetic Stability
This is the most easily overlooked yet crucial point. With some magnetic‑charging cables, the suction noticeably weakens after just one or two months—often not due to the outer layer, but rather to the degradation of magnetic force in the inner magnetic adhesive. The SH‑8010 maintains stable magnetic strength even after prolonged use, with decay kept at a very low level.
Process and Parameters
SH-8010 is an addition-cure, magnetically attractable solid silicone rubber with a fixed formulation. Open mixing, extrusion, and molding are all feasible. After curing, the material is magnetized, and the magnetic strength can be adjusted to meet product requirements.
Main technical parameters:
● Specific gravity: 3.65–3.9 g/cm³
● Hardness: 72–77 (Shore A)
● Tensile strength: ≥2.5 MPa
● Elongation: ≥100%
It has a gray-black appearance, with uniform rubber compound, making it suitable for mass production.
Application scenarios
Magnetic self‑storage data cables are the primary application area for the SH‑8010.
Whether it’s a fast-charging cable for your phone, a data cable for your laptop, or a short headphone cable… Using this material for the inner magnetic layer enables the cable to self‑adhere and self‑store.
SH-8010 magnetic solid silicone rubber—provides stable magnetic support for magnetically attached, self‑retracting data cables.
